Vipassana Trust Sagar (M.P) is currently conducting non-center courses in Sagar, Madhya Pradesh. The quest to build a permanent center is on and we should be able to hear an update soon.
Old students (ones who have completed at least one 10-day Vipassana course with Mr. S.N. Goenka or any of his assistant teachers) with the right volition of dana can contribute by offering Dana (Donation).
The current projects that need funds are:
- Conducting of non-center courses
- Acquisition of land, and thereafter, construction of a permanent center
How to arrive
By air: The nearest airports to Sagar are Raja Bhoj International Airport (BHO), Bhopal and Jabalpur Airport (JLR), Jabalpur. One can then take a train, a bus, or a private taxi from Bhopal (approx. 170 kms.) or from Jabalpur (approx. 160 kms.) to reach Sagar.
By train: Sagar (Saugor Train Station – SGO) is an A category railway station of the West-Central railway zone of Indian railways and is connected by direct trains to cities like Agra, Ahmedabad, Ajmer, Ambala, Amritsar, Ashok Nagar, Bhopal, Bhubaneshwar, Bhuj, Bilaspur, Cuttack, Dewas, Dhanbad, Durg, Durgapur, Gaya, Ghaziabad, Guna, Gwalior, Haridwar, Igatpuri, Indore, Jabalpur, Jaipur, Jalandhar, Jammu, Jhansi, Jodhpur, Junagadh, Katni, Kharagpur, Kolkata, Kota, Ludhiana, Mathura, Meerut, Morena, Mumbai, Mungaoli, New Delhi, Panipat, Patna, Pendra Road, Puri, Raipur, Rajkot, Ratlam, Rewa, Roorkee, Rourkela, Satna, Sehore, Shahdol, Somnath, Tatanagar, Udaipur, Ujjan, Vadodara, Varanasi, Visakhapatnam, and many other en route cities.
Coming from other parts of India, one can find connecting trains from Bhopal (BPL), Bina (BINA), Jabalpur (JBP), Katni (KTE), or Rani Kamlapati (RKMP) railway stations.
By bus: Sagar is connected by direct buses to cities like Bhopal, Chhatarpur, Damoh, Dewas, Gwalior, Indore, Jabalpur, Jhansi, Katni, Khajuraho, Maihar, Nagpur, Panna, Raisen, Rewa, Sanchi, Satna, Tikamgarh, and many other nearby cities/towns. If you travel by a car, the (popular) Google Maps app can be helpful in getting the directions to reach Sagar.
